Eldon O. Paul, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.
Mr. Paul was a 1948 graduate of Roanoke High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier. He was past Potentate for the Shriner’s, Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Roanoke and the American Legion Post No. 160 in Roanoke.He was born on Feb. 19, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to Otto and Louise Schenkel Paul. He married Kathryn Close in 1955 and she preceded him in death in 1995. He then married Jacqueline Hentze Etter in 1997. She survives in Huntington. Additional survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Payne, of Huntington; two stepsons, John Etter and Jeff (Ann) Etter, both of Huntington; one stepdaughter, Ginny Etter, of Huntington; one sister, Eileen Ambriole, of Huntington; two grandchildren, Andrew Paul and Aaron Paul; seven stepgrandchildren and several great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Paul. Calling will take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a Masonic Service, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A private burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, at a later date.
