Evelyn R. Godfroy

Evelyn R. Godfroy, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Godfroy graduated from Memorial High School in St. Mary’s, OH, and attended Capital University in Columbus, OH. She worked at Triad/Utrad/Magnetek for 38 years when she retired from there in 1994. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality.  She was a member in the American Legion Post No. 7 Auxiliary and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 2689 Auxiliary, where she served as a past president. She was also a member of the Huntington Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 837.  She was a long-time volunteer ticket taker at the Huntington Catholic School athletic events.
She was born on June 10, 1932, in Arlington, OH, to Harold and Ruth Harman Glick. She married Paul R. Godfroy on May 29, 1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2005.

Survivors include a son, Steven (Julie) Godfroy, of Huntington; a daughter, Jane (Joe) Burkhart, of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Jarod Burkhart, of Huntington, Jenifer (Jim Riley) Burkhart, of Huntington, Jessica Williams, of Muncie, Dylan Burkhart, of Huntington, Kevin (Janna) Godfroy, of Roanoke, Kayla (Joe) Becker, of Connersville, Kyle (Andi Vicksman) Godfroy, of Denver, CO, and Kelsey (Andrew) Stone, of Milwaukee, WI; and 11 great-grandchildren,

Calling will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 2 to 7 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 8:45 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. An hour of calling will immediately follow.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 10 a.m., at the church, with Rev. Thomas Zehr presiding.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.
