Frances Elaine Whitacre, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 9:32 p.m., at her residence.
Mrs. Whitacre graduated from Huntington Township High School. She was a homemaker and worked at Indiana Bell Telephone. She retired as a Clinical Aide from Central Elementary School. She attended Central Christian Church.
She was born on Oct. 7, 1936, in Fort Wayne, to Jessie Wise-Pinkerton. She married James Whitacre on June 4, 1955, in Huntington. He survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include a son, Jeff (Rhonda) Whitacre of Syracuse; a daughter, Julie (Mary Campbell) Whitacre, of Huntington; three sisters, Judy (Steve) Halchuck, of Decatur, Kathy (Gordon) Pleus, of Fort Wayne, and Kim Asher, of North Fort Myers, FL; a brother, Les (Vicki) Pinkerton, of Rochester; five grandchildren, Terry, Chris and Matt Waters, Erica Dice and Sarah Shisler; and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, from noon to 2 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Ray Scribner officiating.
A private family burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
