Alice I. Stevens, 90, of Bluffton, IN, and with ties to Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Stevens was a 1949 graduate of Berne High School. She published a book entitled, “Poetry with Art,” which included poems about her children and grandchildren and their unique qualities. She retired from Sola Basic in Ann Arbor, MI, as an office manager after a stint at Memcor in Huntington. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, in Ann Arbor, MI.
She was born on March 13, 1931, in Berne, to Walter and Lenora Yoss Schug. She married Charles Stevens on June 12, 1971, in Huntington. He survives in Bluffton.
Additional survivors include a son, Steven (Nan) Habegger, of Mt. Juliet, TN; two daughters, Jane (Bob) Summers, of Berne, and Carol (Steve) Counsell, of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, with calling to begin an hour prior.
Burial will be at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, MI.
