Opal Jean Wiley Brubaker, 87, of Warren, IN, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Brubaker graduated in 1952 as Salutatorian from Rock Creek in Huntington County. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and attended Boehmer United Methodist Church. She was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma of Warren since 1972. She was a homemaker and sold Avon.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1934, in Ohio, to Chester J. Wiley and Ida B. Jennings. She married Robert “Bob” Brubaker on Nov. 19, 1955, in the Congregational Christian Church in Warren. He survives in Warren.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Eric) Dick, of Decatur, and Sondra (Dale) Zabel, of Warren; two sons, John Brubaker, of Battle Ground, and Mark (Helen) Brubaker, of Huntertown; four grandchildren, Erin (Shane) Combs, of Warsaw, Kara (Kenny) Lingg, of Markleville, Gwen Brubaker, of Huntertown, and Evan Brubaker, of Huntertown; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Barry Humble and Rev. Steve Nevius officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in rural Huntington County.
