John R. Siela, 86, of Markle, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at his home.
Mr. Siela was a graduate of East Rockcreek High School. He farmed for his father, then served in the U.S. Army for two years. He received an associate’s in business administration and was employed by Magnavox and GE as a line foreman. He owned John Siela Ford Dealership in Montpelier. He received his Health Facility Administrator’s License and was employed at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center. He assisted in the startup of Markle Health Care, where he retired as administrator after six years. He also held Insurance and Real Estate Licenses and authored his own book. He was a lifetime member at Markle Church of Christ.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1934, to Leo and Emma Nelson Siela. He married Jean Cheesman on April 24, 1955, in Keystone. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Ronald (Janet) Siela, of Warsaw, and Rudi (Pamela) Siela, of Huntertown; a sister, Beverly (Claron) Boots of Bluffton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Siela Faus; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Siela and Randy Siela; a grandson, Landon Siela; and a great-grandson, Alexander Siela.
Calling will take place today, Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle.
A funeral service will immediately follow with Blake Caley officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Markle Cemetery.
