Albert Dewayne Coleman, 82, of Montpelier, IN, and with family ties to Markle, IN, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at 2:28 a.m., at his home.
Mr. Coleman attended Hartford City High School. He retired from Dana Corporation in Marion and also worked in construction as a contractor. He coached basketball at the Hartford City YMCA. He was a member of the C.B. Club.
He was born on June 28, 1939, in Blackford County, to Clayton Albert and Agnes Pearl Barkdull Coleman. He married Loretta Jane Nelson Coleman on Feb. 25, 1962, in Georgia. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 2014.
Survivors include five daughters, Brenda Dodge, of Missouri, Kim Buchannon, of Marion, Renae (Rodney) Johnson, of Hartford City, Penny (David) Gibson, of Hartford City, and Brooke (Jason) Taylor, of North Carolina; three sons, Mark Coleman, of Oklahoma, Jason (Angie) Ellis, of Markle, and Keaton Coleman, of Montpelier; a brother, Jerry (Pat) Coleman, of Albany; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Amos Albright officiating.
