William L. Davis, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at 4:45 p.m., at Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center, Marion.
Mr. Davis graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1949 and earned his Electronics Degree from DeVry Technical Institute, of Chicago, IL, in 1957. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from ITT in Fort Wayne as an electrical engineer technician after 30 years of service. He was a clay trap shooting state record holder, big game hunter, woodworker and fisherman. He was baptized on Sept. 12, 1999, at Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 2689, of Huntington, the D.A.V., of Hartford City, the National Korean War Association, the NRA and the Izaak Walton League of America for over 35 years.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1929, in Roanoke, to Clarence L. Davis and Martha Morrison Davis. He was married to Marilyn Davis for 17 years before her death. He then married Ann W. Davis, who also preceded him in death after 36 years of marriage.
Survivors include a son, John C. (Melinda) Davis, of Andrews; a daughter, Terry Ann Martin, of Huntington; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. Teddy Fairchild officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington with military honors performed by VFW Post No. 2689.
