Donald Ray Malone, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Malone graduated from Sullivan High School and attended Indiana State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a medic. He retired in 1994 as a journeyman press operator from Our Sunday Visitor after 32 years of service. He was a member of the St. Peter's First Community Church, the Huntington Lions Club and the American Legion Post No. 0777.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1935, in Sullivan, to Ezra Malone and Mona Vowell Malone White. He married Anne E. Hildebrand on April 8, 1962, in Huntington. She survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include a son, Shawn P. Malone, of Huntington; a daughter, Shelley Jo (Philip Hibbert) Septer, of Huntington; three granddaughters, Allison (Sheldon) Coleman, of Columbia City, Gabrielle (Seth Doctor) Malone, of Huntington, and Sarah Malone, of Huntington; a grandson, Jacob Malone Septer, of South Bend; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Septer, and a grandson, John "Zachery" Septer.
A memorial service will take place at a later date. Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
