LaDonna L. Covey, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at Parkview Huntington Hospital in Huntington.
Mrs. Covey graduated from Huntington High School in 1949 and then attended beauty college in Fort Wayne. She operated and owned a beauty shop in Whitley County. She was also a bus driver for seven years with Washington Township in Whitley County and 25 years with the Huntington County Community School Corporation. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington and also attended church at Healing Heart Church of God in Marion.
She was born on April 23, 1931, in Indianapolis, to Martin Luther and Bessie M. Lizemby Prater. She married Donald R. Covey on June 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2011.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Gregory) Auer, of Columbia City; three sons, Larry Covey, Gary (Lisa) Covey and Terry (Marcia) Covey, all of Huntington; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Paul Kyler Auer.
Calling will take place on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Delmar Fenwick officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Huntington.
