Thelma Lucille Harper

Thelma Lucille Harper, 95, of Wabash, IN, and with ties to Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at 7:04 a.m., at Miller's Merry Manor East in Wabash.  

Mrs. Harper was a 1944 graduate of Huntington High School. She worked at Wabash Magnetics for 20 years, retiring in 1989.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1926, in Huntington, to Robert E. and Almeda Miller McKenzie. She married Darwin G. Harper on Sept. 16, 1944, in Phoenix City, AL. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2014.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Terry Knee, of Urbana; two grandchildren, Shaun (Renee) Knee, of Akron, and Tiann (Bob) Aughinbaugh, of Huntington; five great-grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Knee, a granddaughter, Sheri Ann Knee, and a great-granddaughter, Christina Knee.

Calling will take place on Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Brian Chamberlain officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
