Gerald E. Binegar, 88, of Bluffton, IN, and with ties to Warren, IN, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at 12:48 a.m., at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Binegar attended Pennville High School through the ninth grade and later joined the Army and served in Germany, while earning his GED. After being discharged from the Army in 1956, he had a few different jobs before going to work for International Harvester. He worked for International Harvester for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was also a 50-year member of the American Legion Post No. 156 in Montpelier. He and his wife owned a small farm in Ossian.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1933, in Jay County, to Letha (Dulinski) Binegar Davis and James Binegar. He married Pauline “Polly” Faye Bixler on July 20, 1972, in Bluffton. She preceded him in death in 2015 after 43 years of marriage.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Glancy Funeral Homes Walker Chapel in Montpelier.
