Gaylord “Gale” W. Williams

Gaylord “Gale” W. Williams, 95, of Warsaw, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Millers Merry Manor-Warsaw.

Mr. Williams graduated from Wolf Lake High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. During his service, he served in the European Theater and received two battle stars. After his military service, he worked in motor transport sales for over 30 years, retiring in 1987.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1925, in Huntington County, to Harry C. and Lucy Ebert Williams. He married Mercedes (Heitz) Williams on Sept. 11, 1949. She survives.

Additional surviviors include two children, Jeff Williams, of Warsaw, and Joy (Brian) Conrad, of Columbia City; five grandchildren, Kevin Hackworth, of North Webster, Kyle Hackworth, of North Webster, Kara (David) Plaehn, of Columbia City, Nick (Elizabeth) Allen, of New Orleans, LA, and Misty (Nate) Lewis; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling will take place on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, with a celebration of life service to immediately follow. Titus Funeral Home’s Sharon Brockhaus will officiate.

Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery. Military honors will be overseen by members of the American Legion and the U.S. Army.
