William “Bill” H. Hendryx, 66, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Hendryx spent the majority of his adult life in Huntington, having graduated in 1973 from Huntington North High School. He worked at Majestic for 25 years until they closed. He then worked for Bendix for six years, retiring in 2020. He coached youth in the Huntington PAL Football Club. He coached the Bears for many years. He had his pilot license and in retirement bought a Drifter two-seater.
He was born on June 6, 1955, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Dorothy (Leonard) Robinson and Billie C. Hendryx. He was previously married to Tamara Hendryx. She survives. His current partner, Phyllis Herring, survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include three sons, Adam (Julie) Hendryx, of Huntington, Shaun (Katie) Hendryx, of St. Petersburg, FL, and David (Krystal) Hendryx, of Huntington; two stepdaughters, Sandy (Chad) Shaw and Stefni (Dave) Scharland; two brothers, Carl (Pam) Hendryx and Roger Hendryx; one sister, Diane Hendryx; four stepsiblings, Michael Robinson, Lowry Robinson, Crystal Keaton and Rick Robinson; seven grandchildren, Mara Hendryx, Haden Hendryx, Aubrey Powell, Aaron Hendryx, Triniti Kay Hendryx, Niklas Hendryx and Kiara Hendryx; and five stepgrandchildren, Xavier Shaw, Zachary (Tori) Shaw, Blaze Shaw, Gage Shaw and Derrik Scharland.
Calling will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Amos Albright officiating. Those in attendance are asked to follow state and CDC COVID-19 guidelines.
