Helen E. Hemmick

Helen E. Hemmick, 96, of Van Buren, IN, and with ties to Warren, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at 12:40 p.m., at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mrs. Hemmick was a 1943 graduate of Van Buren High School and was a lifetime member of the Van Buren United Methodist Church. She worked at her family hardware store for nearly 40 years. She was the Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Van Buren and was a member of the Beta Gamma Latreian Club. She was Van Buren town clerk for eight years.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1925, in Van Buren, to Foster and Goldie Nie Miller. She married Robert C. Hemmick III on June 12, 1947, in the Van Buren United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Robert C. (Connie) Hemmick IV, of Pittsburgh, PA, and John W. "Bill" (Jane) Hemmick, of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Brian (Rachael) Hemmick, of Mount Baker, WA, Megan (Joseph) Perillo, of Philadelphia, PA, Bradley (Morgan) Hemmick, of Troy, OH, Aaron (Lyndsay) Hemmick, of Elkhart, Sara (Sean) Richardson, of Indianapolis, and Caleb (Carli) Hemmick, of Marion; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling will take place on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Van Buren United Methodist Church-Fellowship Hall, 108 S. 2nd St., Van Buren.

A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the Van Buren United Methodist Church, 105 2nd St., Van Buren, with one hour of calling prior to service. Rev. Brad Hensley will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery.
