Martha I. Roberts, 71, of Rochester, IN, and formerly of Warren, IN, passed at 8:51 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, IN.
Martha was born on March 7, 1950 in Rochester to the late George and Normalene (Fites) Wagner. She was a graduate of North Miami High School in 1968. Martha received a certification in Gerontology from Ball State University and attended the Fort Wayne Institute of Art. She served as an EMT for 11 years in Huntington County as well as the director of the Huntington County Council on Aging. Martha also was an art teacher in the activities department at Heritage Pointe of Warren. She then was owner and artist at Mirglas Glass Art.
She had been a lifelong attendee of the Ebenezer Church of Macy, IN. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and the Red Hat Society. Martha loved being outdoors, especially fishing and mowing her yard. She was known as an amazing artist in many mediums. She fell in love with stained glass and it became her passion. She adored her grandsons and they meant the world to her.
She is survived by her daughters, Megan (Arturo) Mondragon of LaFontaine, IN, and Susan (George) Saunders of Zephyrhills, FL; grandsons, Joshua Mookhram and Victor Mondragon; brothers, Stephen R. and Marlene “Gaye” Wagner of Macy; nieces, Tawnya (Carl) Mason and Koren Wagner; nephew Nelson (Debbie) Wagner; and ex son-in-law Dave Mookhram.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Stephen G. Wagner.
A memorial will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 West Rochester St., Akron, IN, with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021., at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Martha’s final remembrance place will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery of Macy.
