Virginia “Ginny” E. Oden, 93, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Oden worked as a bus driver for 25 years, starting in 1969 and retiring in 1994. She continued to sub after 1994. She was a graduate of Huntington Township High School and attended St. Peters First Community Church.
She was born July 1, 1928, to Paul and Cella Harris Bouman. She married Herb Oden on June 20, 1948, in Huntington. He survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Michael “Mick” (Donna) Oden, of Huntington; a daughter, Diane (Mike) Atkinson, of Noblesville; four grandchildren, Jason (Brittany) Oden, Jared Oden, Janell (Aaron Downey) Oden, and Heather Clark; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Oden.
Calling will take place on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow. Those in attendance are asked to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
