Alice “Jean” Arnett, 92, of Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at 9:53 a.m., at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Arnett taught a Good News Club and was a junior high Sunday School teacher. She was active in various women’s Bible studies throughout the years. She was also a seamstress.
She was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Allentown, OH, to Thomas N. Long and Leona Myer Miller. Along with her mother, her stepfather, Tracy Miller, raised her. She married Harold Arnett on April 10, 1948, in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2017.
Survivors include a son, Steven (Barbara) Arnett, of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Verna (Larry) Williams, of Huntington, and Deborah Dauscher, of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a funeral service to immediately follow, at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes.
A private burial will take place at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery in Roanoke.
