MaryLou J. Rahr, 74, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Rahr graduated in 1967 from Otto-Eldred High School in Eldred, PA. She retired from Johnson Junction after 20 years as a retail clerk. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington.
She was born on Nov. 5, 1947, in Sittard, Netherlands, to Jack and Mary Demarteau DeBock. She married Dale Bruce Rahr on Oct. 10, 1970. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Jason (Kellie) Rahr, of Anderson; two daughters, Nicole (Jim) Hahn, of Andrews, and Brandi (Kain) Vanover, of Lewiston, ID; two brothers, Frank DeBock, of Eldred, PA, and Anthony (Julie) DeBock, of Bradford, PA; three sisters, Gertrude (Julian) Baldoni, of Eldred, PA, Anne (Larry) DiCenzo, of Charleston, SC, and Jacqueline (Doug) Mitchell, of Pittsford, NY; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Vanover, Paige Vanover, Cota Hahn, Tess Hahn, Jordan Norrod, Samantha Rahr, Gavin Rahr, AnnaElizabeth Davis and Carly Jaggers; and two great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at 3:30 p.m., followed by calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington.
Calling will also take place on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Rev. Thomas Zehr will officiate.
A private interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.
