Richard Basil Hoover Jr., 75, of Servia, IN, and with ties to Bippus, IN, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne.
Mr. Hoover attended Northfield High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. After he was honorably discharged from the military, he worked for Pierceton Trucking in Laketon. He later owned and operated RH Trucking. He was a member of the Laketon American Legion Sunset Post No. 402 in Laketon.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1946, in Royal Center, to Richard Basil and Helen L. Hearrell Hoover.
Survivors include a brother, Van (Sandra) Hoover, of Bippus; and a sister, Diana (Richard) Steele, of North Manchester.
Calling took place on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. A funeral service took place immediately after calling with Rev. J.P. Freeman officiating.
Burial was at Crooked Creek Christian Cemetery, Royal Center.
