Orlan W. Holmes, 71, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Holmes was a 1969 graduate of Creston High School in Washington. He retired as a computer tech. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Community in Fort Wayne. He was an advocate for many foundations such as COPD Foundation, Alpha 1-Foundation, Donate Life America, Better Breathers Club and the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1950, in Spokane, WA, to Millard and Michael “Kay” Emmert Holmes. His long-time partner, Patti Mullins, survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Elisa Mudd, of Huntington, Dawn Holmes, of Coldwater, MI, and Heather (Adam) Parra, Crystal Holmes, and Heidi (Shawn) Crosson, all of Fort Wayne; one sister, Marlena Guhlke, of Washington; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be no services or calling hours. A private graveside service and celebration of life service will take place at a later date. McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, is handling arrangements.
