Margie Thompson, 83, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at 4:20 a.m., at Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington.
Mrs. Thompson retired as a housekeeper in 1998 from Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital in Palm Bay, FL, and worked at H.K. Porter for 19 years and Wabash Magnetic for seven years. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Huntington and the Women Auxiliary of the Church. She also volunteered at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 21, 1938, in Pikeville, KY, to Jessie and Emma Adkins Childers. She married Bobby Thompson on Jan. 18, 1960, in Pikeville, KY. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2009.
Survivors include three daughters, Zena (Jim) Fishbaugh, of Huntington, Donna Hale, of Adrian, MI, and Hatty Jones, of Prestonburg, KY; a son, Bobby C. (Carla) Thompson Jr., of Huntington; a sister, Betty Williams, of Pikeville, KY; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Hale; a daughter-in-law, Mary Thompson; four grandchildren, Angela Fishbaugh, Crissy Hale, Samantha Jo Thompson and Christopher C. Culver.
Calling will take place on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon, at First Freewill Baptist Church. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Brunk Conley officiating.
Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington.
