Betty J. Broxon, 95, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at 11:42 p.m., at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1926, in Huntington, to Leo and Marie Fanning Sands. She retired as an Inspector at Magnavox in Fort Wayne after 25 years of service. She also worked at Vtrad Corp. for six years and Pyle Speaker Plant for 13 years. She was a member of the Huntington Church of the Brethren, where she was involved in the women's fellowship. She was also a greeter and sang with the church choir.
Mrs. Broxon graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1945. She married John Omer Broxon on Dec. 28, 1946, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2006.
Survivors include a son, John C. (Amy) Broxon, of Huntington; two brothers, Gary (Mary) Sands, of Huntington, and Bob Sands of Andrews; and two granddaughters, Christina Broxon, of Huntington, and Andrea Broxon, of Huntington.
Calling will take place on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Christy Knecht will officiate. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
