Karen Kay Anson, 64, of Roanoke, IN, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at 10:50 p.m., at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Anson graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1975. She worked at Stein Mart of Fort Wayne for 12 years before the store closed and worked as a special needs bus aid for Huntington County Community School Corporation for five years. She was a former member of the United Way and the Huntington 4-H Fair Board. She took part in the Parent Teacher Organization and was a teacher’s aide for numerous classrooms. She was a 4-H leader for Polk Township and was a coach for several t-ball teams.
She was born on March 12, 1957, in Huntington, to Ralph and Barbara Eckert Johnson. Her father survives in Huntington. She married Arden N. Anson on Oct. 11, 1975, at St. Joseph Church in Roanoke. He survives in Roanoke.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Andrea' (Jeff) White, of Andrews, Angela (Scott) Ulrich, of Wilmington, NC, Apryl (Darren) Goeglein, of Huntington, and Autumn (Sam) Scher, of Huntington; four sisters, Cindy (Doug) Spice, of Huntington, Polly (Jack) Dennis, of Roanoke, Darlene (Brent) Stanley, of Huntington, and Elaine (Dave) Felton, of Huntington; a brother, Ryan (Robin) Johnson, of Huntington; in-laws, Mark Anson and Juanita Anson, of Andrews; and nine grandchildren.
Calling will take place on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A private graveside service will take place at the Union Cemetery. Masks are recommended but not required.
