Danny Lyle Carpenter

Danny Lyle Carpenter, 73, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at 10:49 a.m., at his residence.

Mr. Carpenter graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1967. He retired in 2003 from General Electric of Fort Wayne after 36 years of service and worked at the Huntington County Jail as a Controls Operator for five years. He was a past member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association.                                       
 
He was born on Nov. 9, 1948, in Huntington, to Fred and Dondas Sands Carpenter. He married Patricia “Pat” D. Johnson on June 28, 1969, in Huntington. She survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Dianna K. (Todd) Spillman, of Andrews, Amy L. (Karl) Shockome, of Andrews, and Danielle R. Bireley, of Huntington; a brother, Gerald F. Carpenter, of Huntington; two sisters, Deborah M. Kimmel, of Huntington, and Pamela (Larry) Worster; seven grandchildren, Alicia (Andrew) Landrum, Erica Spillman, Tyler Spillman, Tomika Shockome, Bailey (Gabrielle) Shockome, Brooke Bireley and Haylee Bireley; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling will take place today, Monday, Jan. 31, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington.
