Claron E. Boots

Claron E. Boots, 90, of Bluffton, IN, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Boots was a longtime member of the Markle Church of Christ, where he served as trustee and usher, and also worked with communion and counted attendance. He was a 1950 graduate of Garnett High School in Garnett, KS.  He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954.  He had worked at NIPSCO for 34 years, retiring in 1997. He also drove trucks for Helena for several years.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1932, in Garnett, KS, to Oscar and Edith List Boots.  He married Beverly J. Siela on Oct. 26, 1957, in Markle. She survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Judi Flowers, of Bluffton, and Joni (Joe) Tape’ of Columbia, MD; a son, Dave (Sharilyn) Boots, of Bluffton; a brother, Dale (Barbara) Boots, of Kansas; a sister-in-law, Alberta Boots, of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Chris (Amber) Flowers, Jamie (Andrew) Tigner, Jared G.R. Tape’, Jaqueline Tape’, Kyler Boots and Kiersten Boots; 13 great-grandchildren, Eli Flowers, Cal Borne, Sophia Huss, Haylie Tigner, Hunter Tigner, Harper Tigner, Hudson Tigner, Aniyah Tape’, Leila Tape’, Jared E. Tape’, Caden Tape’ and Ace Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Flowers.

Calling will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle. A funeral service will immediately follow. Gerald O. Moreland will officiate.

Interment will take place at a later date at the Markle Cemetery.
