M. Dennis Hay, 73, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at 10:03 a.m., at Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis.
Mr. Hay served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, rising to the rank of first class petty officer. He received his Bachelor’s in Religious Music from Atlantic Baptist Bible College, Chester, VA, and his masters and doctorate in Religious Education from Community Bible Seminary, Richmond, VA. He worked in bi-vocational ministry for 30 years, during his time of ministry he was a truck driver and deputy sheriff. He was a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church, Roanoke.
He was born on Feb. 29, 1948, in Richmond, to Kleber Eugene and Irene Heiger Hay. He married Venus Thompson on Jan. 5, 1974, in Majenica. She survives in Huntington.
Survivors include sisters-in–law Debora (Frank) Barth, of Lagro, and Pamela (Dana) Pegg, of Marion; a brother-in-law, Gary (Mary) Thompson, of Huntinton; and two nieces, Shirley (Ron) Bigga, of Richmond, and Jackie (Don) Harvey, of Greensfork.
Calling will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, Huntington Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Rick Harris will officiate.
