
Barney Dean Myers, 84, of Bippus, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at Envive Healthcare in Huntington.
Mr. Myers was a 1955 graduate of Lancaster Township High School. He and his wife owned and operated the “Wood Shed” for many years, making handcrafted furniture and selling it at arts and crafts festivals around the country. Prior to that, he delivered baked goods for Sap’s Bakery.
He was born on June 29, 1937, in Lancaster, to Robert E. and Ina B. Call Myers. He married Karen Jayne Neterer on Aug. 22, 1959, in Lancaster. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela (Jeff) Rittenhouse, of Bippus; two sons, Rodney (Juliana Tagliaferri) Myers and Robert Myers, both of Bloomington; a sister, Erma Thornton, of LaFontaine; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
There will be no public visitation or services.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery at a later date.
