Joseph L. Shockome, 69, of Huntington, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at 4:46 p.m., at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Shockome graduated high school in 1970. He worked at Ken-Koat and was a member of Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) to further his hobby of model airplanes.
He was born May 15, 1952, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Joseph C. and Martha L. Sprowl Shockome. He married Melanie Rahn on Oct. 16, 1998, in Huntington. She survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include a stepson, David Donaldson, of Huntington, and a stepdaughter, Rosalinda Segovia of Texas; a brother, Robert (Marissa Belt) Shockome, of Huntington; a brother-in-law Eric (Kim) Rahn of Texas; five sisters, Roseann Green, of Texas, Barbara Perrigue, of Texas, Sara (William) Sumwalt, of Warren, Dorothy Delagrange, of Huntington, and Mary (Bob) Ivey of Huntington; mother-in-law Phyllis F. Ness, of Huntingon; father in-law Ed (Carolyn) Rahn, of Ossian; grandmother-in-law Ireta Rahn, of Huntington; and three stepgrandchildren, Ally Leckenby, Orlando Donaldson and David Donaldson Jr.
Calling will take place on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, from noon to 2 p.m., with a funeral service to immediately follow, at Deal-Rice Funeral Homes- Huntington Chapel. Rev. Wayne Couch will officiate.
Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
