Terry E. Brown, 55, of Markle, IN, died Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Brown, a 1972 graduate of Norwell High School, was self-employed as a house cleaner and landscaper. He was also involved in farming for many years and had worked at Wilbert Vault in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church and volunteered with the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
He was a member of several bands, including Laced with Grace, High Court, Jexx and The Brown Family. He played bass guitar and sang, and also played backup guitar for several groups in Nashville, TN, over the years.
He was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Huntington to Doyle K. and Donna I. Overholt Brown. His parents survive in Markle. His first marriage was on Aug. 27, 1976, in Fort Wayne to Victoria M. Ybarra; they later divorced. His second marriage was in 2003 in Markle to Susan Golden; they later divorced.
Survivors include three daughters, Kelly (Russell) Smith and Hallie Brown, both of Huntington, and Kimberly Gumpp, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Lynne (Duane) Brown, of Kendallville, and Georgia (Robert) Whitehurst, of Tampa, FL; a brother, Bob (Connie) Brown, of Markle; and six grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, July 23, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Markle United Methodist Church, 145 W. Morse St, Markle. Gerald O. Moreland will officiate.
