Phylis Bernice Hubartt

Phylis Bernice Hubartt, 96, of Warren, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mrs. Hubartt graduated from Lancaster High School in 1944. She received her bachelor’s degree from Huntington College and her master’s degree from St. Francis College. She taught at Salamonie School in Warren for 23 years. She was a member of the Huntington County Classroom Teachers, ISTA and the NEA. She was also a member of the Chautauqua Literary Club.

She was born on April 18, 1926, in Huntington County to Paul Ivan Hacker and Naomi Mary Deemer Hacker.

She married Leonard Grant Hubartt March 13, 1944.  He preceded her in death. She later married Carl Z. Hubartt Dec. 22, 2001. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a stepson, Dennis Hubartt.

Survivors include children Gail (Sharon) Hubartt, of Springfield, Missouri, Gary (Cindy) Hubartt of Scottsdale, Arizona and Stephen (Sue) Hubartt, of Frostproof, Florida; a stepson, Kerry Hubartt, of Leo; a sister, Carol Snyder, of La Fontaine; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Calling will take place Monday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. with funeral services  immediately following at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren. Rev. Gene Vickery will officiate.

Burial will take place Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.
