William “Bill” L. Sunderman

William “Bill” L. Sunderman, 78, of Huntington died May 14, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

He was a 1962 graduate of Huntington High School. He served in the U.S. Army.  He worked at, then owned and operated the family business, Lillsun Manufacturing Co. for 60 years.  He also served as a Huntington City Firefighter for 23 years. He was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Train Collectors Association, American Legion Post No. 85, VFW Post No. 2689 and Family Motor Coach Association.

He was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Huntington to Herman J. and Lillian M. (Holley) Sundermann.  He married Rita A. McKinley Aug. 28, 1965, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Huntington. She survives.

Additional survivors include sons David J. Sunderman and Don J. Sunderman, both of Huntington; and a sister Sharon (Michael) Ulrich, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Calling will take place May 17, 10 a.m. – noon with funeral Services immediately following at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbia City.  Rev. David Mommens will officiate.

Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
