John Thompson

John Thompson, 94, of Huntington, died May 16, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Thompson graduated from Blissfield High School in 1945.  He served in the U. S. Army. He built and sold 57 houses in the Blissfield-Adrian, Mich., area and 30 houses in Lake Havasu, Ariz., among other places. He was a member of the United Brethren Church.

He was born July 18, 1927, to Norman Nicholas and Genevieve ”Jennie” Thompson in Riga Township, Mich. He married Mary Jane Miller Nov. 4, 1950. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Jake Thompson.

 

Survivors include five children, Janet (Jay) Ballard, James (Margaret) Thompson, David (Rosi) Thompson, Richard (Elizabeth) Thompson, and Michael (Mary) Thompson; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

 Calling will take place May 24, 3 - 7 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Burial will be in Riga, Mich., May 28.
