Jean Lois Meyer, 94, of Huntington, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.
Jean was a 1946 graduate of Huntington High School, and had attended UCLA. Jean was a homemaker. She was a former member of VFW Post 2689 and American Legion Post 85. Jean was also a member of The Women’s Democratic Party and volunteered as an election official. She also volunteered at the library.
Jean was a member of the 4-H for many years winning ribbons in painting and flower arranging. She was an avid reader, gardener and loved being near the ocean. The family would like to thank Parkview Hospice and Miller’s Merry Manor for the wonderful care that their mother received.
Jean was born on Jan. 25, 1928, in Huntington, the daughter of Kenneth and Grace (McBride) Amick.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Meyer in 1955 in Huntington. Robert preceded her in death on May 11, 2013.
Survivors include two daughters: Amanda Hines of Huntington, Natalia Morris of Jackson, Mich.; four grandchildren: Sarah Klages, Ashley Bender, Laura Grizzard, Michael Hines and seven great grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by four sisters: Bonnie Forney, June Webber, Betty Stahl and Nancy Parker.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
