Sherry J. Rumple, 62, of Marion, with ties to Huntington died June 21, at Marion General Hospital.
Mrs. Rimple was a 1977 graduate of Eastbook High School. She was also a 1987 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan (Marion College) and a 1998 graduate of Ball State University. She served her country in the United States Marine Corp from 1979-1982 and spent two years in the reserves from 1982-1984. While enlisted in the Marines, Sherry was stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan. She worked at Kayak Poole and the VA in Marion as an IT specialist.
Sherry was born on July 11, 1959, in Fairfield, Calif., to Susie Mitchel Taylor. She married Daniel Gene Rumpleon April 18, 1997.
Survivors include mother Susie Mitchel Taylor of Van Buren, husband Daniel Gene Rumple of Van Buren, children Karrie Jo (Arthur) Anderson of Coldwater, MI, Daniel (Shelby) Rumple, Stan (Fiancé, Megan) Willhide, Matthew Rumple, Rikki Rumple, Joah (Fiancé, Jessica Dudley) Rumple, Rayne Rumple, all of Van Buren, IN, Christy B (Rock) of Marion, brother Terry (Lois) Taylor of Van Buren; 20 grandchildren & great-grandchildren, brother-in-law David (Lou Rae) Rumple, sisters-in-law Cindy Rice, Tina Rumple, Kandi (Jeff) Adamson of Upland, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Julie Anne Willhide, brother-in-law Jon Rumple, 8-month-old son Noah Gene Rumple, 1-month- old granddaughter Daneka Jayne Rumple-Willhide Harwood, 9-week-old great-grandson Hudson Anderson, and, mother and father in-law, Gene and Joan Rumple.
A remembrance took place Tuesday, June 28, at the Van Buren United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Van Buren. Military funeral honors were conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Burial will be in the Van Buren Cemetery at a later date.
