Ricky Lee Witt

Ricky Lee Witt, 64, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington, IN.

He was born on December 19, 1957, in Saint Charles, Missouri to Jack and Betty (Bracht) Witt. He married Rebecca J. Kohler on September 23, 1978, in Fairview Heights, IL

Witt was a 1976 graduate of Orchard Farm High School in Missouri. He was a member of the U.A W. Local 2209 of Roanoke, IN. He was the U.A.W. Health and Safety representative at General Motors and retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. He was Santa’s helper for many years and an avid hunter, fisher, and trapper. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and camping with his family.  He was active in helping his kids with their livestock projects in 4-H and took his grandchildren for rides on his John Deere tractor.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca J. Witt of New Haven, IN; Son, Matthew P. (Wendi) Witt of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Ashley L. (Keith) Ricker of Ft. Jennings, OH; Two Grandsons, Quinton, Braxton; Granddaughter, Isabella; Brother, Jerry L. (Kathy) Witt of O'Fallon, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack C., and Betty J. Witt.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Elder Tommy Wunderlich officiating.

Witt Family would like to thank the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor of Huntington for the wonderful care Witt received and to the staff at Stillwater Hospice of Ft. Wayne for making his final months easier for him.
