Raymond ‘Keyo’ Velasquez Jr.

Raymond “Keyo” Velasquez Jr., 73, of Montpelier, (formerly of Keystone), passed away at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton.

He was born on Wednesday, March 30, 1949, in Wells County. Raymond was a graduate of Chester Center High School and he had worked for Indiana Box for several years in Montpelier and Warren. After retiring, he later enjoyed scrapping. He was a simple man who loved living the country farm life, he loved his cats, watching TV, and he also spent some time lifting weights.  

Loving survivors include his daughter Tracy Lynn Velasquez, Poneto; sisters Darlene Owings, Inverness, Fla., Barbara Jean Southerland, Homosassa, Fla., Shirley James, Zanesville, Sandy (Kelly) Wistner, Hicksville, Ohio; brothers– Rick (Tammy) Velasquez, Poneto, Randy (Jodi) Velasquez, Huntington, Jerry Velasquez, Montpelier, and brother Freddie G. Velasquez, Huntington; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew and two brothers-in-law.

Visitation and services were Friday, July 8, at  Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier. The Rev. Steve Sutton officiated. Interment was at Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
