Connie Kreischer-Sills

Connie Kreischer-Sills, of Portland, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Persimmon Ridge in Portland. She was 90 years old.  

She was born on Monday, November 9, 1931, in Blackford County, IN.  She was a 1950 graduate of Roll High School. She was a member of the Farrville Community Church. Kreischer-Sills had lived in rural Hartford City, Blackford County, Washington Twp. for 87 years before moving to Portland, IN.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Overhead Door, Hartford City, Ferguson Canning, Hartford City, Connie's Candy, and was an Avon representative. Kreischer-Sills was known as the "Farrville Cheese Ball Lady". She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and organ at Farrville Church, and gardening. She was a member of the Farrville Women’s Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin L. Sills, Portland, IN; daughters, Patty (Richard) Ehlers, Avon, IN; Doris (Richard) Ankney, Ely, NV, Terri (Larry) Strezo, Elmhurst, IL; grandchildren, Andrew Ehlers, OH, Stephanie Ehlers, Milford, OH, Marisa Britton, Ely, NV, Catlin Harris, Alamo, NV, Tyler Strezo, Elmhurst, IL, Amanda Strezo, MN; step daughters, Cathy Murray, VA, Vickie Betz, Portland, IN; step son, Kevin (Kim) Sills, Portland, IN, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold R Kreischer; parents, Lloyd D. and Irene (Frust) Roush; and sister, Peggy Jo Pierson.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, with Rev. Al Soultz & Ginny Soultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
