
Anthony J. “Tony” Jiosa, of Huntington passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at his residence. He was 88 years old.
He was a 1953 graduate of Rockcreek High School in Huntington County. He had worked at Dana Corp. for 35 years as a millwright and master welder, retiring in 1990. Jiosa loved to travel with his wife and children. He could play the organ by ear and loved to play; he was very musical and enjoyed playing at nursing homes. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and cards as well as cooking and he often cooked for large groups and functions.
Jiosa was born on May 23, 1934, in Huntington, to Daniel and Callie (Johnson) Jiosa. He was united in marriage to Dixie Fahl on June 14, 1953, in Markle. Dixie survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Gina Simon of Huntington; three sons, Bruce Jiosa of Huntington, David (Susan) Jiosa of Savanah, GA, Terry Jiosa of Huntington; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerri DeMike; three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
