
Jean Ann Kaltenmark, of Warren and formerly of Huntington passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Heritage Pointe of Warren. She was 81 years old.
She had attended Huntington Catholic Elementary, transferred to Horace Mann Elementary and graduated from Huntington High School in 1957. Kaltenmark attended Huntington College and later earned her BS degree from Oakland City College and her MA degree from Ball State University.
She headed the medical records department at Caylor Nickel Clinic in Bluffton. Jean was a substitute teacher in and around Huntington County including Huntington Catholic Schools. She had worked at Schacht’s Manufacturing and was a traveling teacher in Southern Indiana and in Huntington County. Kaltenmark was a 2nd grade teacher in Sweetser, Indiana and was a resource teacher at Warren Elementary and Salamonie School. She retired from Salamonie School.
Kaltenmark was a member of Central Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Retired Teachers of Huntington County. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, genealogy, history studies as well as word searches, playing solitaire, politics, and swimming. She was a great big sister and friend to many.
Jean was born on July 28, 1940, in Huntington, to Herman and Jeannette (Friend) Kaltenmark.
Survivors include: a brother, James (Sharilyn) Kaltenmark of Wabash; a sister, Judith Kaltenmark of Huntington; three nephews, Randal (Beth) Kaltenmark of Zionsville, Douglas (Bridget) Kaltenmark of Powell, OH, and Michael (Tiffany) Kaltenmark of Westfield; seven grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 11a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, following visitation at 1 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will be at the Athens Cemetery in Fulton County.
