Joni Dick, 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home in Fort.
She was born June 24, 1960, in Huntington. After several years of service, she retired from Parkview Hospital, Barrett McNagny and Indiana Physical Therapy. Upon retirement, in addition to raising her family, she began volunteering for Animal Care and Control, Fort Wayne Ballet (as a board member), Humane Fort Wayne and Junior League of Fort Wayne. She was passionate about the growth of the Fort Wayne community.
She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and with her many friends. Dick had a passion for fostering kittens, saving over 200 animals. She also loved to travel, dine out and attend concerts, with a special affinity for Jimmy Buffett shows. She performed every year in Fort Wayne Ballet’s Holiday Nutcracker and was an avid Notre Dame sports fan. She also loved to share her drink invention with her friends; the Joni Poni.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Dick; children, Hayli (Scott) Beck, Anna Dick, and Adam (Raleigh Sparrow) Dick; granddaughters, Claire and June Beck; parents, Patti Souers, and Jerry (Karen) Souers; mother-in-law, Carol Walker Dick; sisters, Rose (Tom) Wall of Huntington, Lisa Snider of Huntington, and Kathleen (Donald) McLean of North Carolina; brother, Ed Souers of Huntington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her in-laws, Bob and Arlene Dick.
Visitation was Monday, July 18, 2022, at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
