Thomas Michael McGregor, 57, of Pretty Lake, Wolcottville, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at his residence. He was 57 years old.
He was born December 7, 1964, in Belleville, Michigan, to Thomas Phillip McGregor and Faith Ann (Schlough) Lee. He was married on September 17, 1988, to Lea-Ann Smiley.
McGregor received his bachelor’s degree from ITT Tech in Fort Wayne. He retired from UPS where he worked for 35 years and was a member of the UPS Circle of Honor for safe driving. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 710 and served as a union steward for 12 years. He attended church at Calvary Chapel in Stroh and County Line Church of God in Auburn.
McGregor enjoyed ice fishing and metal detecting. He was an avid University of Michigan fan. He loved to hop in his car to go adventuring and would take along anyone who wanted to go, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Lea-Ann McGregor of Pretty Lake; a son, Trenton (Lukinda) McGregor of Kendallville; two daughters, Tara (Josh) Hall of Auburn and Haley McGregor of Kendallville; five grandchildren, Jacob McGregor, Cameron McGregor, Alexis McGregor, Evan McGregor, and Maverick Hall; his mother, Faith Ann Lee of Harrison, Michigan; mother-in-law, Judith (Joe Reiter) Smiley of Kendallville; sister, Mary (Tom) Mondeau of Harrison, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Floyd Smiley of Carsonville, Michigan and John (Arika) Smiley of Lakeland, Florida; and nieces and nephews, Caitlin (David) Stiltner, Nick Mondeau, Justine (Johnathan) Schneider, Zachary Rodriquez, Abigail Smiley, and Jonathan Smiley and Daniel Smiley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Phillip McGregor; stepfather, Richard Lee; and father-in-law, Ralph Smiley.
Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2022, from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
McGregor’s funeral service will be Friday, July 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Rifenburg officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in LaGrange County.
His funeral service on Friday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m. for those unable to attend in person.
Pallbearers are Trent McGregor, Josh Hall, Mike Messman, Jason Thomas, Steve Perkins, Tim Hartman, and Rick Thompson.
