Lloyd J. Nave, of Huntington, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his residence. He was 69 years old.
He was born on April 17, 1953, in Huntington, IN, to Rex Nave and Violet (Booher) Nave-Helms.
Nave grew up in Huntington before moving as a young adult to a trade school where he learned to weld and gain certifications. He spent his entire working career as a welder. He retired from Tenneco Automotive of Ligonier after 18 years of service.
He married Hazel Gagen on Oct. 20, 1973, in Bluffton, IN at his grandparent’s house. Nearly married 49 years, they spent 38 of them in the Syracuse and North Webster area where they raised their family. During his leisure time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering in his garage, and working on restoring his 1956 Ford F100 truck. Lloyd had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others out. He was a devoted family man, he loved his Sunday drives with his wife and, spending time with his grandchildren making memories.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Nave of Huntington; son, Mark J. (Angela) Nave of Goshen, IN; two grandsons, Lucas, Sean; granddaughter, Allison; five brothers, Michael (Sara) Nave of IN, Donald (Kahleen) Nave of IN, Mickey (Sherri) Helms of TX, Douglas Helms of Mexico, Thomas Langel of IN; Sister, Patty Langel of IN.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rex Nave, mother, Violet Nave-Helms, Infant son, Rex J. Nave, brother, Partick Nave, sister, Judith (Harold) Rupright and his “fur companion” Lady.
Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Chris Hayden officiating.
