Priscilla K. “Kay” Steele, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at her residence. She was 75 years old.
Kay was born May 14, 1947, in Huntington, IN, to Harold “Half Hitch” Henly and Patricia “Pat” (Sult) Ludwig. She married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Steele on May 23, 1964, in Huntington.
She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1973 and went on to Huntington Beauty College and worked as a hair stylist for several years. Once their three children were out on their own, she got her CDL license and drove truck with her husband. Steele was a member of the American Legion Post #85 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #837 both of Huntington, IN. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing crafts, sewing, baking, reading books. She was a proud Red Hats lady.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Steele of Huntington; two daughters, Tamra K. Otis of Pueblo, CO, Keela Kay Steele Riker of Huntington; son, Shayn W. (Sheila) Steele of Huntington; brother, Richard “Rick” (Marcia) Henly of Huntington, IN; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold “Half Hitch” James Henly and Patricia “Pat” Ludwig.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Steven R. Vachon officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt Hope.
