Sharon Rose Rethlake, 86, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Sharon was born on June 6, 1936, in Huntington, to the late Justin and Catherine (Schwartz) Dinius. She married John “Jack” Rethlake on June 22, 1957, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2004. Sharon was a 1954 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a payroll specialist for Majestic, Huntington Community Schools, Flower Memorial Hospital in Ohio, and retired from Pathfinder Services in Huntington. She was an active member of Sigma Beta Sorority and the Huntington Metro Kiwanis.
Sharon is survived by two daughters; Susan (Joe) Wright, Findlay, Ohio, and Ann (Jon Brinneman) Rethlake, of Andrews; one brother, James (Rita) Dinius and one sister, Judy DeLuca, both of Huntington. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Graham (Rachael) Wright, Molly (Blake) Mealer, Hailey (Jesse) Tompkins, Clint Tompkins, Meredith Rethlake and Chloe Wright. Along with her parents and husband, one son, Gary Rethlake; and one granddaughter, Chelsea Rethlake, preceded her in death.
To honor the wishes of Sharon there are no services scheduled, with a private burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Huntington County Humane Shelter in care of McElhaney- Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.
