Nathan Minner

Nathan Minner Left this earth on Aug. 21, 2022 to join his beloved wife of 79 years, Dolly Louise and his two daughters, Barbara L. Parrett and Constance L. Lavery in heaven.

Nathan was born on Nov. 2, 1924 in Greensboro to the late Earl and Cora Minner.  He was one of 11 children.

Nathan enlisted at the age of 17 in the U.S. Navy, He was an Aviation Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class and served both stateside and in the Pacific theater in WWII. Afterwards, he moved to Pennsylvania with his family and started his career with Burton O. Smith Greenhouses in Kennett Square; where he worked for 40 years. His final employment was with Longwood Gardens where he was a Head Gardner for the greenhouses. In 1988, Nathan and Dolly retired to Harrington to enjoy their time.  In 2017, they moved to Huntington to be closer to their family.

Nathan was an avid gardener and was on Honor Flight Northeast Indiana in 2019.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW, 32nd Degree Mason, Lion’s Club, American Legion, and Scottish rite.

He is survived by daughter, Deborah (Robert) Pearson of Huntington, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
