Luke Elias Bent

Luke Elias Bent, of Huntington, passed away suddenly Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne while he was patiently waiting for a liver transplant.

Luke was born on Jan. 18, 2022, in Marion. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Erica (York) and Jeremy Felver, Huntington; and his father and stepmother, Boris and Josephine Bent, Indianapolis.

Luke was a 2021 Huntington North High School graduate. He was a four-year member of the HNHS marching band and loved playing his trumpet. While growing up, Luke played PAL baseball, participated in Boy Scouts, was a member of Anime Club, Spanish Club, and attended Kidney Camp in the summer.

Along with Luke’s parents and step-parents, he is survived by four sisters; Dakota Wolfe, Indianapolis, Margaret “Maisie” Bent, Huntington, Shaian Hutcheson, Indianapolis, Elise Felver, Huntington; two brothers, Brice Felver and Jonas Bent, both of Huntington; maternal grandparents, John and Peg York, North Webster; Ron and Cindy Felver, Warren; paternal grandparent, Elaine Bent, Middleborough, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours are being held on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at McElhaney Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington. Additional calling hours are being held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m., with a service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with The Rev. Byron Kaiser officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Huntington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Huntington North High School Marching Band in care of the funeral home. McElhaney Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
