Edward Charles Szelis

Edward Charles Szelis, 55, of Huntington, passed away at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at his Residence.

Edward was born on June 21, 1967 in Ft. Wayne, the son of Rex Szelis and Rose (Shaffer) Szelis. He graduated from Homestead High School with the class of 1987 and then married the love of his life, Kay C. Miller, on August 3, 1989 in Huntington. He worked at D&W Fine Packs of Ft. Wayne for ­­30­­­ years. Edward loved football and baseball, whether it be watching the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts or coaching his sons in little league sports. He was a very hardworking man but also loved to joke around. At the end of the day, he was best known for being a family man.

Survivors include his Mother, Rose M. Szelis of Zanesville; Wife, Kay C. Szelis of Huntington; Three Sons, Preston C. (Gabbriell) Szelis Sr. of Huntington, Stephen E.J. (Amanda) Szelis of Bluffton, and Braylon E. Szelis of Huntington; Daughter, Jessica T. (Larry) Young of Bluffton; 12 Grandchildren, Preston Jr., Carter, Colin, Jayden, Trevor, Degan, Olivia, Layla, Mason, Wyatt, Ylva, and Benjamin; two Brothers, Tim (Denise) Szelis of Roanoke, and Tony Szelis of Zanesville. He is preceded in death by his Father, Rex Eugene Szelis.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington.  Funeral services are being held at 12 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jami Staton officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington.
