Donald D. Brown

Donald D. Brown, 91, formerly of Montpelier, passed away at 8 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at his residence in Fishers. He was born on Sunday, July 5, 1931, in Blackford. He married Donna Helm on Sunday, Dec. 27, 1953. Donald was a 1949 graduate of Montpelier High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He worked for Kroger for 16 years and retired from the Dana Corp. in 1997 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Millard Brown American Legion Post # 156, Montpelier, and the Dana Sympathy club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Donald will be sadly missed by his wife; of almost 69 years, Donna Lou (Helm) Brown, Fortville; son Dean (wife, Candice) Earl Brown, Tennessee; daughter, Deanna (husband, Brian) Lynn Lewis, Fortville; granddaughters, Emily Lewis, Indianapolis; Megan Pohlgeers, Columbus, Georgia; grandson, Matthew Brian Lewis, Indianapolis; step granddaughter, Kelly (husband, Matthew) Wilson, Texas; step grandson, Aaron Everheart, Hartford City; brother, Dennis (wife, Doris) Brown, Montpelier; and sister, Shirley (husband, James) Mildred Ann Rogers, Liberty Center.

 He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda (Williams) Brown; father, Russell Worden Brown; brother, Russell Lee Brown; and step-grandson, Kyle Everheart, Hartford City.

 Family and friends will gather to share and remember Donald at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, from 3-7 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022. A service to celebrate Donald’s life will follow on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Les Bantz officiating.
