Donald “Don” Lee Yount, of Andrews, passed away at his home on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022.
Don was born on April 25, 1939 in Jackson Township, Wells County, to Paul E. Yount and Ruth (Hunnicutt) Yount. He attended Warren High School for 10 years and then spent his last two years and graduated from Lancaster High School in Huntington County in 1957. His first job was for Warren Telephone Corp. He then worked at Huntington Tractor Sales and then Essex Wire in Andrews and Columbia City. He worked at Pierce Governor in Upland and then moved to Divide, Colorado where he worked for an electrical firm for 15 years. Don moved to Andrews to retire.
Don enjoyed camping and mushroom hunting. He loved to fish and even became a member of the Lunker's Club of Cass Lake. Don enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Don really enjoyed his property in Andrews where he got to enjoy country living and fish whenever he wanted.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Yount; and daughter-in-law, Cindi Yount.
Loving survivors include his children, Randy Yount of Andrews, Brent (Trudi) Yount of Marion, Michael Yount of Andrews, and Melissa (Kenneth) Krieger of La Fontaine; sister, Jennette (James) Mooney of Ocala, and Bonnie Zeller of Warren; former wife, Kathryn (Fisher) Trisler of Andrews; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Per Don’s wishes, there will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
